Speaking about navigating challenges related to parenting teens during the pandemic:
About Me
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has provided psychotherapy services to individuals and couples in the private office setting as well as to students in the Piro Scholarship Program at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory for the past 7 years. With an approach centered in warmth, humor, encouragement, and curiosity I work collaboratively with my clients on equipping you with skills and tools as well as on building insights that ultimately facilitate growth.
I believe in creating an experience for my clients in which we acknowledge all of the factors that impact your life. Together we attend to both your brain and mind; your bodily health as well as emotional health.
I draw from existential philosophy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques to guide us in sessions. Above all else, however, I strongly believe in the healing effects that the therapeutic relationship itself can elicit. Having an ally, an emotional and mental sanctuary, a sounding board, and a constant positive presence in our lives can be profoundly impactful and it is what I provide to each of my clients.
I have also enjoyed working in the research field at UCSF's Langley Porter Institute and serving as an undergraduate research assistant in personality and social psychology labs at U.C. Berkeley. You can read more about my experience here.
I take pride in working with a diverse array of people in my practice and welcome individuals and couples from any racial and ethnic backgrounds as well as all sexual and gender identities.
